I want to Rest

All I want to do now is to crawl to my bed to have a good rest. I am feeling extremely tired from work today, having a high work load today. I didn’t even go out for lunch but my colleague bought a sandwich for me.

But I have to pack for tomorrow activities and do some stuff before I can rest. There is so much to things to do this weekend as well. I doubt I have time for proper rest. :(

I Am Tired

Lately I realized that there isn’t much of personal time for myself. I guess I have been stretching myself too far at work and have been putting on extra hours. Sometimes after work, I catch up with my friends and have dinner with them after work.

For example, I come home around 10.45pm and I have to shower and get some chores done before hitting the bed. There isn’t much time for myself for quality personal time. I don’t even have time to look at the new insurance that my friend proposed.

Looks like I need better time management or else I’ll get too tired and grouchy!

Home Cooked Meal

We were so bored of eating outside everyday. Not only it is expensive, the food is oily, salty and full of MSG which is bad for us and not nutritious too.

That is why my housemate, Mary sometimes offer to cook for us during the weekend. Today, she bought us a egg tart each in the morning for breakfast and it was yummy.

For lunch, she cooked chicken herbal soup, egg omelette and steamed vegetables! Of course I helped in preparing the food and cooking as well. We enjoyed the simple lunch very much and I volunteered to do the washing up.

Guess what are going to have for dinner tonight!

Japanese Snow Pea Benefit!

I always love to eat the Japanese snow pea and never fail to buy them during sales as it is much cheaper than to eat at Sushi King. I would buy two packets today again.

And as my habit lately, I like to check out the benefit of food that I am consuming.

So, is snow pea good for me? Apparently it is yes!

Here are the benefit or goodness of snow pea :

“Snow Peas, Sweet Peas, and other green peas are bursting with nutrients. They provide good to very good amounts of 8 vitamins, 7 minerals, dietary fiber and protein. Green peas’ supercharged nutritional profile can supercharge your health.

Snow Peas and other green peas provide nutrients that are important for maintaining bone health. They are a very good source of vitamin K1, which activates osteocalcin, the major non-collagen protein in bone.

Snow Peas and other green peas also serve as a very good source of folic acid and a good source of vitamin B6. Snow Peas and other green peas a very good source of thiamin-vitamin B1 and a good source of vitamin B6, riboflavin-vitamin B2 and niacin-vitamin B3, all of which are nutrients that are necessary for carbohydrate, protein and lipid metabolism.

Green peas are also a good source of iron, a mineral necessary for normal blood cell formation and function, whose deficiency results in anemia, fatigue, decreased immune function, and learning problems.

Snow Peas and other green peas provide nutrients, including vitamin C, which are instrumental in helping to prevent the development of cancer”

Shop Till You Drop!

I thought I was the only excited soul for Isetan sales in my house. But after I told Suz about the upcoming and sales and I couldn’t wait to go, she surprised me by asking me if she could not go to her important-dancing-class and go to shopping instead!

Whoa! For all I know, the Friday dancing class is her favourite and she always look forward to go. She learns much more and enjoys the class too.

But I guess, shopping seems to be more attractive to her, since she really wants to get some new casual clothing and maybe some pairs of new jeans too!

And so, we’ll shop till we drop on Friday night! =)

Why Do You Have Tired and Dry Eyes

My eyes are getting very dry again these couple of days. Perhaps I have used too much computer and stare too much at the monitor.

Suzzane is right,I blinked too little and focus too much on the screen for such a long period of time. It is very bad for my eyes and make them dry and tired!

Well, weekend is coming and I hope I would spend less time with the computer during weekend. Maybe watch the downloaded movies that I have?

Healthy Breakfast Is A Happy Breakfast!

I had a healthy breakfast today! Or at least it is partially healthy. =)

I made corn in cups (more to Tupperware) and steamed it at home. After that, I put to dab of margarine into that container and brought to office.

I reheat it using the microwave at office and ate all of them, yummy! Surprisingly I didn’t feel hungry after that which I did when I had corns sometime ago for breakfast. And after an hour, I couldn’t stop myself from making a cup of coffee! =P

Well, at least I tried, didn’t I? =P

I love travelling very much but God knows how I hate packing. It is essential for me to pack everything I need as I hate to be missing something during my trip.

Thus, I have a standard list of things to pack as I go travelling quite often. So every time before I pack my stuffs, I would copy the list into a paper. As I pack and refer to the paper, cancelling every items that I have put in my bag. The last few items would be circled so that I would remember to bring them too.

From time to time, I would update the list if I have new-must-bring items!

And yes, I hate to unpack after I come back too!

The Marriage Act

The marriage regulated by “Marriage and Divorce Act 1976.

Here are 10 interesting fact about it:

1) If your husband is not “capable” (impotent) and cannot make love to you after married, you an apply to the court to void this marriage. Note, this is not a divorce. The marriage is void so you both are not even considered married.

Marriage TOTALLY without sex is considered as “incomplete” under the law. If he manages to make it, even only ONCE, the marriage is considered complete. Same to women, if the wife refuses to sleep with husband, the man can make the same application to void the marriage.  2) Other reasons that can void a marriage: One side was not in healthy or clear mental state when decides to marry, the woman already pregnant but it is not your baby, the spouse infected by contiguous sex disease…

3) If you engage with someone but marry someone else, your ex can sue you, but not based on the 1976 Act. It is more like a breach of contract (like business contract). Even though you both did not register, if there is enough evidence (e.g. engagement dinner, witness, exchange of ring) to prove that such a promise is made, you will need to pay compensation to your ex (note: it is not a fine).  4) You cannot marry today then ask for divorce next week. You both must have been married at least two (2) years at the time you present your petition for divorce, unless the Court grants you special permission.

5) The Marriage and Divorce Act of Singapore is quite different from Malaysia’s. Singapore government is having headache to encourage their citizens to get married, probably that’s why its family law is stricter? For point no.4, Singaporeans need three (3) years.

6) Commit an adultery (sleep with someone other than your spouse) is not illegal in Malaysia. It is a serious ethic problem but not a crime, so the police will not lock you in a jail. However, this offense can be used as the reason for filing a divorce.

7) If you cause someone divorce (you are the “third person” who directly damages their relationship, which is used to be good before you butt in), the victim side can request the court to make you pay the court fee, as a compensation.

8) You can apply for divorce if you are tortured by your spouse, either physically or mentally, or both. Your spouse has behaved in such a way that you cannot reasonably be expected to live with him/her. For example, a wife who always grumbles and scold her husband. But the torture has to be so serious or unbearable that you could be injured badly or cannot live a normal life.

 9) In GENERAL, wife can ask for 1/3 of total income of BOTH persons as maintenance. For example, her husband earns RM2,600 per month and she earns RM1,000, both have a total monthly income of RM3,600. She will get (RM3,600 x 1/3 - RM1,000) RM200 monthly as maintenance. If her earning is more than, half of the income of her husband, she may not be eligible for a maintenance. Please note this is usually by per-case basis. e.g. The Court will also consider if they got children.

10) If you are abandoned (e.g. spouse missing in action, or refuse to live with you) for a minimum of 2 consecutive years, you can apply for a divorce. The drama always shows that a husband, who is missing for 10 years, comes back to stop his wife from marrying other. If you plan to re-marry, you (single side) can apply for divorce after you are deserted for 2 years. No need to wait until the irresponsible one to come back to whack your party.

Tuesday With Morrie

Another book by Mitch Albom, who also the author of the famous ‘Tuesday with Morrie’. I first came across this book when S bought it in MPH last year and he promised to borrow me after he finished. And it was soon all forgotten. A couple of weeks ago, we had an introduction section with our new product manager and he mentioned this book. I became curious about it and asked S and finally I got it~

It is rather a short book and very easy to read. It is about an old man who died in an accident at his workplace, a funfair and went to heaven. He was frustrated with his life as after the war, due to his family and circumstances and his bad leg, he didn’t do much in his life. He leads a very ordinary life as the maintenance man of the fun park and never got out of Ruby Pier to touch his dream. He repeated what his father did for a living, although he resented it.

In heaven, he met the 5 people who affected his life, which some he didn’t even aware. The message of the book was everyone’s life was interrelated whether or not they realized it. Everyone existence does matter and affect others. No one is an island and no one can be an island.

Below is an extracted paragraph from the book and it really got me :

Holding anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves.

And yeah, it is a quite a good book and worth reading~
