Movie Weekend!

I had a pretty relaxing weekend. With two movies. Yeah I did watch two movies at the cinema (Doraemon & Knocked Up) , 3 episodes of Grey Anatomy and a Korean movie on DVD, titled the 200 Pound Beauty.

It was a movie weekend I suppose. But pretty relaxing despite the hot weather. It was quiet, my 2 housemates were away to hometown. I rather like it though, not much noises until late of midnight. =P But tomorrow is Monday again… sucks..

Wishful Wish~

While waiting for my laundry to be done yesterday, I flipped on some catalogues laying on the living room table.  With so many sales going on, I wish I can afford to do some shopping! I am tempted to redecorate my living room with new set of sofa, LCD mount & TVs and some new throw pillows.

But well, budget is low, recession is bad. Let just do with what I have till another windfall!

Sold!

Yay! I finally sold off my tour package through the online auctions yesterday! It is so tempting that I might what to do it again.

I have been trying to sell it through forum for over 2 months. Although I received a lot of questions and interest, I have no serious buyer!

Now I finally sold it at 10% lower than my original price, at least I could get it off my hands and have no worries about it anymore! ;)

Please Leave The Light On

When I came home at night yesterday, I was surprised to see the whole house was so dark. I knew that my roommates had gone out for shopping after work but as usual, they didn’t switch on any light before they left.

I have told them numerous times to keep the living room lights on so that it would be brighter and gave the impression that someone is at home. I think I should get some outdoor lighting as well.

Please be reminded to switch on the light the next time you are going out at night.

Strong Little Girl

As usual I visited some of my favourite blogs and I was surprised to read that a 16 month-old toddler had overcome two surgeries that cost over fifty thousand in a private hospital! The poor little thing has gone through so many traumas and ordeals during the 4 weeks in the hospital. She has just been discharged yesterday but as a precaution, the parents bought Philips Heartstart Onsite to monitor her little heart.

I wish her well and may this be the last ordeal that she has to go through!

Frustrating Research

It’s finally Saturday! I have been waiting for it for five slow days! I felt that this week was especially hard to go through as I am doing some futile research which is really quite frustrating, not getting the result I want and wasted a lot of time. It makes me lost my appetite at lunch and I believe the effect is as good as taking ephedra!

Anyway, let’s just forget work for a couple of days and pick it up again on Monday. :)

Types of Friends

I received this from a friend and how true~

-By Michelle Burford

“Friends are the family we choose for ourselves,” writer Edna Buchanan once said. I consider the “family” I’ve gathered—with five kinds of pals I count on for completely different things—among the wisest choices I’ve made. If you can find even one who embodies any of the characteristics that follow, you can consider yourself fortunate.

1. The Uplifter
This woman’s favorite word: yes. You could tell her you’re trading your six-figure income for a career in offtrack betting, and she’d barely pause before yelping “Go for it!” Don’t you need someone who looks past the love handles to notice the extraordinarily gorgeous you?

2. The Travel Buddy
When the hotel in St. Lucia is a bust, one characteristic becomes all-important: flexibility. This agreeable companion need not be the girl you traded pinkie swears with on the playground; it’s enough that she’s comfortable with quiet (between gabfests) and is a teensy bit mischievous (as in tequila after midnight).

3. The Truth Teller
Intent is what separates the constructive from the abusive. Once you’ve established that the hard news is spoken in love (not in jealousy or malice), you’d be smart to seek out this woman’s perspective.

4. The Girl Who Just Wants to Have Fun
One Saturday a pal and I—and yes, we’re both over age 12—pored over every glitter lip gloss in a drugstore aisle for an entire 45 minutes. Forget the crisis download (for that, see the Uplifter); this partnership is about spontaneous good times.

5. The Unlikely Friend
“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive,” Anaïs Nin wrote. My friends—some twice my age, others half, some rich, others homeless, some black like me, others Korean, Mexican, Caucasian—have added richness to my life that only variety can bring.

Big for 8!

My colleague went to the the mall again today to exchange the dress for her 8 years old niece, for the third time! When she showed us the dress, all of us were surprised of the size!

It was really big for an 8 year old. Even petite me could easily slip into the kid’s dress! She said her niece is rather big size and has been eating a lot. I think kids nowadays are eating too much fast foods and so obese are a common problem in our society.

Imagine an 8 year old is weighting about 40kg while I am only a kg or two heavier than her. It is very important to watch children’s diet so they do not become uncontrollably oversized when they grow up.

Wedding Bombs

Many people are getting married this month! I have a few friends hitched up as well. So invitations are flying everywhere and it’s like a bomb as you do not want one to land on you.

There is a courtesy of distributing wedding invitations too. It is good to distribute the invitation early as late delivery only means that the invitation is less sincere. It could mean that you are only replacement to those who couldn’t make it.

Just my two cents anyway.

The Piano

After a couple of months of discussions, Clark & I finally decided to rent out our condo. We are lucky to have a teacher to rent the condo within a couple of weeks of advertising.

She has just moved in early of this month. When we went to check on her last week and to fix the leaking pipe, we saw a big piano in the living room. She said she is giving piano lessons for extra income during her free time. How I wish I have the time and opportunity to learn some piano as it was one of my dream when I was young. But I couldn’t afford to pay it back then. Now I just don’t have the time. Sigh..
